WFH (work from home) is not new. But the recent uptick in companies offering permanent WFH job opportunities marks a turning point in how companies build creative teams. Because of stay at home orders, companies are experimenting with new ways of working remotely. Most creative teams have been forced to become virtual. As a result, many companies have embraced the transition by offering new remote design jobs.

No longer is the search for talent limited by one’s geographical location. Because of this, designers more than ever before can work from anywhere. Quite simply, companies can build top talent teams by giving their employees the option to work remote. Location is no longer a limit for companies.

Although many employees are eager to return to office life, others have embraced the WFH trend. Companies are adopting digital by default policies that give their creative talent the option to work from wherever they want, forever.

1) Remote design jobs at Facebook

FB recently announced that the company will begin “aggressively” hiring remote employees, with a particular focus on more senior level roles. Employees have now been given the opportunity to work from anywhere, forever. CEO Mark Zuckerberg anticipates that by 2030 up to 50% of the company’s 45,000 employees, saying:

“We are going to be the most forward-leaning company on remote work at our scale, and we’re going to do this over time in a way that is measured, thoughtful and responsible.”

The CEO of the e-commerce giant recently announced the company’s transition into being digital by default.

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey announced in a company-wide email that the employees would be allowed to work from home forever. The e-commerce company Square quickly followed Twitter in announcing new permanent work from home policies.
